I guess that’s good but it leaves me bewildered. And then some of the combinations of readers. The lenovo driver helped me. XP drivers fail to load in compatibility mode. Windows 7 and 8. I ruled out faulty hardware because it did work on Linux. Same problem here, but it was working with Linux.

The card is not dard, however windows make a sound when I retire the card. Yes I have already done that. EXE, x64 bit driver version 7.
Sometimes Windows needs a couple of reboots to fully enable driver updates or other changes. The chat to a technician feature is worth looking at, not sure if they cover Vostro’s though – you need to enter your service tag number first to find out.
Does your card reader appear as a drive letter in My Computer? I guess that’s good but it leaves me bewildered. It would help to know what make and type is this card reader, because some of them need an installed driver or are formatted in an exotic manner although this is quite rare – almost all of them vosro with the XP built-in drivers.
I have a problem with the Chipset O2 Micro sd host controller: Try uninstalling and deleting the drivers from within device manager. Reinstall any drivers that might be connected. Make a new post on the laptop general hardware forum to see if anyone else has any suggestions: Try it on another computer.

I found some O2Micro drivers from Lenovo that work:. You can find this setting on the Power Management tab once you have opened the properties for it in device manager.

If this is a USB card reader, you might also verify that your USB hub or whatever is functioning correctly by using another device.
